How much is a taxi from Bangkok airport to Koh Chang?
From Suvarnabhumi to the Koh Chang ferry pier: ฿3,700 by sedan, ฿4,000 by SUV and ฿4,600 by van, per car, tolls included. From Don Mueang ฿4,000 / ฿4,200 / ฿4,800; from Pattaya ฿3,000 / ฿3,600 / ฿4,000.
Does the taxi take me onto the island?
No. The fare ends at Ao Thammachat pier on the mainland. You buy the ferry ticket there (about 90 THB, cash) and walk on; on Koh Chang a songthaew or your resort's pickup takes you to the beach. Taking the car across costs extra — ask when you book.
Which pier does the driver go to?
Ao Thammachat in Laem Ngop district, Trat. It is the only mainland pier with a running Koh Chang ferry; the Centrepoint ferry stopped in 2024.
How long is the drive?
About 4–4.5 hours from Suvarnabhumi, 4.5–5 hours from Don Mueang, 3–3.5 hours from Pattaya and 2.5–3 hours from Ban Phe Pier, depending on traffic.
What time is the last ferry to Koh Chang?
18:30, in both directions; the first is 06:30. Island songthaews stop meeting boats around 17:00, so for a later boat ask your resort to pick you up.
Where does the driver meet me at the airport?
At Suvarnabhumi on Level 4 (Departures), Gate 4. At Don Mueang on Level 3 (Departures) — the exact door comes with your confirmation.
What if my flight is late?
Add your flight number when you book. A person checks it before the driver sets off, and the first 60 minutes of waiting are free. If a long delay puts you past the 18:30 boat, plan a night in Laem Ngop, about 15 minutes from the pier, and take the 06:30.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
In Thai baht cash to the driver at the end of the trip. Nothing is charged when you book and there is no deposit. If you can only pay by card, for example because you have not changed money yet, message us on WhatsApp or LINE and we send a PayPal payment link; a 5% fee is added. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before pickup.
Can I book the ride back from Koh Chang?
Yes. The driver meets you at Ao Thammachat pier after your boat. The 18:30 boat off the island reaches Suvarnabhumi around 23:30 at the earliest, so for an early flight stay a night on the mainland. Going both ways? Message us on WhatsApp or LINE — round trips get a discount.
Can I go from Koh Samet to Koh Chang by taxi?
Yes. The driver meets you at the Ban Phe pier where your boat from Koh Samet lands — there are several close together, so write yours when you book — and drives about 2.5–3 hours (around 180–185 km on Route 3 through Chanthaburi) to Ao Thammachat pier: ฿2,800 by sedan, ฿3,300 by SUV and ฿3,800 by van, per car. The same run back to Ban Phe is ฿2,800 by sedan. Boat tickets are not part of the fare, and the last boat to Koh Chang leaves at 18:30.
